Hotel and Jazz Club
dean alan architects provided a feasibility and concept design for a 96 room hotel with an underground parking garage, ground floor retail space, a ground floor lobby, and a jazz club on the top floor. A cafe/tea shop on the main level would serve as a community hang-out for locals near the hotel site, which is located within the International District of Seattle. The exterior design complied with the requirements of the design review board.
The guest quarters include spacious rooms on a double loaded corridor that maximize the number of rooms available without sacrificing guest comfort.
The jazz club includes multi-level seating leading to the stage, a lobby, coat check, restrooms, a bar, and a kitchen. This unique event space is sure to attract entertainment acts and guests alike, providing additional and diverse revenue opportunities for the client, as well as a gathering space for the community. The project also had the potential to house an area museum, engaging with the neighborhood’s past and present cultural heritage.
